Installation Process
Here at Wayne’s Flooring Honolulu, our team takes special care with your home during each stage of the flooring installation process! From the initial showroom selections to the final touches of installation, we guarantee 100% satisfaction. Here’s what to expect.
Visit our Kaimuki or Sand Island showrooms to discuss your flooring needs to one of our helpful sales associates, who will help you browse and select the best materials that fit within your vision.
No appointments necessary, but feel free to fill out our contact form to expedite the planning and shopping process.
Next, our Honolulu sales team will set up a complimentary home measurement with our estimator within two to three days from your visit. Our estimator will visit your home, take all the needed measurements, and provide the layout to the sales associate handling your project.
You can also schedule a free flooring estimate here.
Once the contracts are signed and the desposit sent, we will order the materials and schedule the installation.
We carry quite a bit of material in stock locally, and can sometimes provide a quick turn around with installation (within one week).
For materials that are not locally stocked, the turn around is typically about two weeks.
With special order materials, we will order and schedule the installation at the same time so that when the materials arrive, we already have a date in place. Special order materials lead time is typically 3-6 weeks.
Please prep your space by moving everything that’s touching the floor out the room(s) our team will be working in.
Our flooring installation experts will move basic furniture (for a charge) but not personal items or electronics. We also do not disassemble/reassemble furniture.
Finally, we can start installing your brand new floors!
The flooring installation time depends on the scope of work. Most carpet installations take about a day, while hard surface flooring installations take, on average, about one room per day.
If the project includes installation of a hard surface and carpet at the same time, we will install the hard surface first, then the carpet, second.
Our flooring installers usually arrive between 8:00-10:00 AM, and typically work from the top-down or from the back of the house to the front. With larger jobs, we review the layout of the area and game plan ahead of time.
Once the installation has finished, our sales associates follow up to make sure all is well, and the remaining balance is collected.
